  • Are my deposits FDIC-insured?

  • Do I have to set up my direct deposits again now that my accounts have transitioned?

 

No. If your checking and/or savings accounts already have direct deposit set up, you should be receiving those funds as scheduled.

 

  • Why am I being asked to verify my account?

 

There are several reasons why we might need to verify your bank account details, including:

  • to confirm that you have control over or access to the bank account we are verifying.
  • to ensure the security of your Swiss Western account and minimize the risk of fraud and identity theft.
  • as part of our commitment to our marketplace partners, to ensure that our payment ecosystem does not contain bad actors.
  • as a part of our review process when requesting to receive accounts
  • as part of our review process when requesting to receive accounts, or as part of our periodic review process.

 

 

B) Bank Credit Card

 

  1. Will my reward points from my United Bank credit card be transferred over to Swiss Western?

If you have rewards points, your existing points balance will transfer to your new account, and any purchases made since your account last cycled will earn rewards points as well.

 

  1. How do I view and redeem my rewards?

You can access your SWISS WESTERN Rewards Dashboard directly from SWISS WESTERN Online Banking; no additional login ID is needed. Enroll or log into SWISS WESTERN Online and Mobile Banking to view and redeem your reward points.

 

You can also get information about your Rewards account and redeem by phone by calling the Rewards Customer Service Center.

 

  1. Will my new credit card be automatically added to my Swiss Western Online Banking profile?

 

Yes. If you already bank online with us, your new SWISS WESTERNVisa Signature Credit Card will automatically be added to your SWISS WESTERNVisa Online and Mobile Banking profile. If you are not enrolled in Swiss Western Online and Mobile Banking,

 

  1. Will my e-statement election be converted?

No. You’ll need to re-enroll in e-statements for this credit card account within Swiss Western Online Banking.

 

 

 

C) Debit and ATM Cards

 

  1. What is the difference between an ATM and a debit card?

With an ATM card, you can only use your card at an ATM.

With an SWISS WESTERN Visa® Debit Card, you can use your card at an ATM or to make purchases anywhere Visa is accepted.

 

  1. How do I activate my new Swiss Western Visa® Debit Card?

To activate your card, simply call the number shown on the sticker on the front of your card or use it at any Swiss Western ATM. Once the card is activated, remove the sticker and sign the signature panel on the back of the card. Then, destroy your old People’s United Bank debit card.

 

  1. What changes can I expect now that I have an SWISS WESTERN Visa® Debit Card?
  • Temporary debit cards are no longer available.
  • Merchant-sponsored rewards are not available with your new Swiss Western Debit Card.
  • You can link up to four personal checking accounts, four personal savings accounts, and two personal lines of credit to a single debit card. You should have received a list of your linked accounts with your new debit card. Contact us to change the accounts on your card.
  • For customers with a World Debit Card, Mastercard® Premier Services are no longer available.

Debit card daily limits:

  • ATM transactions: up to 15 ATM transactions in which you receive no more than $1,000 in total per day.
  • Purchases and other payments (e.g., bill payments): up to 20 transactions not to exceed $5,000 in total per day

 

  1. What changes can I expect now that I have a Swiss Western Card?
  • Please note that if you have a People’s United Debit Card linked primarily to a savings account, you’ll receive a Swiss Western ATM Card as a replacement.
  • You can link up to four personal checking accounts, four personal savings accounts, and two personal lines of credit to a single ATM card. You’ll receive a list of your linked accounts with your new card. To change the accounts on your card, contact us after the transition weekend.

ATM card daily limits:

  • You can make up to nine ATM transactions (in which you receive no more than $1,000 in total) per day.
  • Swiss Western ATM cards cannot be used for purchase transactions.

 

 

 

D) Account Access

 

  1. Can I access my account by phone?

Yes, you can log in to your account from any internet-capable device.

 

  1. Can I use my Swiss Western debit or ATM card to check my account balance?

You can check your account balance at any ATM using your debit or ATM card.

 

  1. How do I reset my passcode?

If you haven't yet logged in to SWISS WESTERN Online Banking for the first time or have tried to log in but were unsuccessful:

Try resetting your passcode at mtb.com/reset. To reset your passcode, you’ll need:

 

Your People’s United Online Banking User ID

Your social security number

One of the following verification methods:

Your activated SWISS WESTERN debit or ATM card and PIN (if you haven’t activated your debit or ATM card, follow the instructions on the sticker on the front of your card).

Your Swiss Western Mortgage account number

Once you receive confirmation on the screen that you've successfully reset your passcode, click the green "Log in to Online Banking" button and use your People's United User ID and newly created passcode to log in.

 

  1. Are there online tools to help me stay informed about my accounts?

You can choose to receive alerts via email, text, or app notification. You'll automatically be enrolled in security alerts like suspicious activity and PIN changes, and you can also enroll in optional alerts.

 

E) Pay bills

 

  1. What are an ACH payment, an ACH recurring payment, and an online bill payment?

An ACH payment is an electronic payment that you set up using your debit card or routing and checking numbers. For example, when you pay your utility bill on their website, that payment is an ACH payment.

A recurring ACH payment is an electronic payment that you setup using your debit card or routing and checking number to pay a specific amount on a set schedule, e.g., monthly or weekly.

An online banking A bill payment is a payment that you send to anyone from SWISS WESTERN Mobile and Online Banking.

 

  1. What happened to the eBills service?

eBills (a service for receiving bills electronically) has not been supported since August 5, 2022.

 

  1. What are my mobile check deposit dollar limits?

If you are enrolled in Mobile Check Deposit, you can find your current limit by logging in to the SWISS WESTERN Mobile Banking App or by selecting Mobile Deposit under the Services menu within SWISS WESTERN Online Banking.
